Music Monday

Hi everyone! This weekend was a blast and a half. It was the last hoorah with my friends before summer since we are all on our study grind with exams coming up. Friday night I just went to the club with a few of my girlfriends and on Saturday I threw a BBQ at my place for all my close friends. It was the perfect send off since I won't be seeing my friends for four months since I will be across the country. Now it's back to reality, I have to spend the next three weeks studying my butt off.

Also, I'm adding a new feature to my blog. At the end of every post I will add a 'Deal of the Day' which will mention an online store with a wicked sale going on. Enjoy the sales my fellow frugal females!

When it comes to music I listen to the lyrics more than anything. Music has helped me through the best of times and the worst of times, just by being able to relate to a song. Read the lyrics to La Dispute - Nine while listening, it will make you feel emotions you never knew you had.

I recall once on the church steps,
When I moved to kiss your chest,
How we paid such close attention
To each sweet and stuttered breath,
I should’ve stopped to paint our picture,
Captured honest pure affection,
Just to document the difference
between attraction and connection.

I can see all of my friends and
I break into empty buildings,
When the coast was clear,
With backpacks full of beer,
We’d throw our bottles from the rooftops
At this city-it looked endless.
Guess I still don’t see the difference
between real purpose and that urgent adolescence.

And I remember in a basement sharing sweat
With all these stranger boys and girls,
“We’ll change the world!” We sang,
“We’ll change the world!” But,
Nothing seems to change and
They say none of them will listen,
But I still see much more power in that basement
than in heartless politicians.

And if we get beaten by this winter,
If we get strangled by regret, just
Let our love of life and tension
Gasp in sweet and stuttered breaths, and
Have them lay us in a basement,
Smash some bottles on the ground, and
Say we couldn't tell the difference
between the feeling and the sound.

Remember not our faulty pieces,
Remember not our rusted parts,
It’s not the petty imperfections that define us but
The way we hold our hearts,
And the way we hold our heads,
I hope they write your names beside mine
on my gravestone when I’m dead.
And when we’re dead let our voices carry on
To find a better song.
To find a better song and sing along

Frugal Find Friday: Littlelow

TGIF. Such an exhausting week. Exams are coming up starting next Saturday (yeah, an exam on a Saturday how cruel) I am dreading them but it also means that after exams I'm hopping on a plane to Alberta to live in the rocky mountains for another 4 months, yay!

On Friday's I usually post 'Frugal Fashion Find Friday' but I'm loving the Etsy store Littlelow so much I decided to share a decor on a dime post with all you frugal females today.

Littlelow is run by owner Caitlin McClain. Caitlin and her team sell 100% eco-friendly products and even their shipping envelopes are eco-friendly! The team designs and sells super cute and affordable art prints, stationary, hoop art, and more!

Here are a few of my favourite items in the shop:

Make sure to check out more adorable products from Littlelow!

Music Monday: April Showers Playlist

I have been thinking of a trick to pull on somebody today but I'm clearly not creative enough this year. Have you come up with any April Fools day jokes? The only joke I heard today was from my Professor this morning who said all our marks have been deleted and he needed to give everyone the class average which is higher than my mark in the class. Everyone groaned while I screamed with joy, until he said April Fools (I'm gullible).

For today's music Monday I created an April Showers playlist to get you through all the rainy days that are going to come. Enjoy!

1. Set Fire to the Rain - Adele
2. Banana Pancakes - Jack Johnson
3. No Rain - Blind Melon
4. Lua - Bright Eyes
5. Over the Rainbow - Ingrid Michaelson
6. It's Raining Men - Weather Girls
7. Singing in the Rain - Gene Kelly
8. Umbrella - Rihanna
9. The Rain Song - Led Zeppelin

I hope everyone is having a fabulous Easter! My family and I don't celebrate Easter like we used to when we were kids. We spent the night at the cottage together and ate food, drank beers and had some quality family bonding time. Even though the Easter bunny didn't spoil me this year, I hope he spoiled you!

Splurge + Save: Floral Crowns

It's officially spring in Canada! The weather has been absolutely beautiful! 8 Degrees (46 degrees Fahrenheit) is patio weather up here in the north. I'm going up to my cottage today with the family... unfortunately there is no Wi-Fi (my brothers and I don't know how we will survive) but I think we will be able to do it!

Since it's springtime, flowers are blooming and festivals are booming, I thought it would be nice to feature a floral crown Splurge + Save feature! I know floral crowns can be quite expensive but Oh Summer Candy is here to pretty up your little head for less!

Do you wear floral crowns? Do you make your own?

I'm Back!

Hi everyone! I hope you didn't miss me too much. As you know I am in a long distance relationship and I had to go three whole months without seeing my wonderful boyfriend Paul. He came to visit me for a week and I wanted to spend as much time as I possibly could with the handsome fellow before he had to leave me again for a month. After this month, I will be moving out to Alberta to be with him! School has also been hectic with final assignments and tests before exam period. I am still pretty busy with school for the next month so I still won't be on regular schedule. I usually post 6-7 times a week but for the next month I will be posting 3-4 times a week. Once I am out of school for the summer I will have plenty of free time to post!! I really missed posting everyday for my blog and I have plenty of ideas for this month!

Here are a few pictures of my week with Paul:

We're cute

 He's cute
 We like food

 We like music
 Matt Mays
 Metric

Overall, we had an amazing week and I can't wait to move out to Alberta again!

PS I will be having a 500 GFC Follower giveaway! Stay tuned!
